I did a half day tour to the cu chi tunnels with Nam. He was an amazing tour guide that gave me a lot of context the other tour guides didn’t and made sure that I got to see some places normally not covered by larger groups. He was excellent and really enjoyed the tour!

Itinerary
Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels!
Your private, English-speaking guide will be waiting for you at your port to greet you with a welcome sign and a big smile. Get comfortable in your air-conditioned transport as we make our way to our first stop – the impressive labyrinth of war tunnels, also known as the Cu Chi Tunnels. Experience how Viet Cong fighters used ingenious techniques to remain safe during the war, and even opt to walk through the tunnels yourself to witness the impressive network, including the secret underground kitchen. The tunnels are a fascinating insight into the creative spirit and endurance of the Viet Cong during the war.
Visit A Rubber Tapping Facility
Prior to returning to the busy streets of Saigon, we will make a stop at a rubber plantation to learn about the history of rubber tree cultivation in Vietnam. Your tour guide will provide insights into the local people’s daily work on the plantation, including their rubber tapping, collection, and production techniques. Vietnam is the third-biggest producer of natural rubber in the world, and this stop allows you the emblematic experience of witnessing the removal of latex from inside a rubber tree. Then, we will drive to HCMC for a tasty, simple lunch (included) such as famous Pho or Banh Mi to fuel up before seeing the city highlights.
Next Stop, War Remnants Museum
The War Remnants Museum is a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and the impact it can have on an entire nation. Get access to unique footage of the war from a different perspective and discover the turbulence and destruction the Vietnamese suffered and subsequently overcame. Although some scenes are upsetting, this museum offers a fantastic insight into the perseverance and determination of the Vietnamese. You will be guaranteed to leave with a newfound appreciation of this stunning and storied country.
Explore The Best Of The City
The French colonial architecture in Ho Chi Minh is a powerful reminder of the turbulent history of this beautiful country. Follow your English-speaking guide as we explore stunning landmarks such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Opera House, City Hall, and the former CIA Headquarters building. Unfortunately, we have reached the end of your trip! We are expert time-keepers and your guide will return you to port in plenty of time for your departure.
See What Our Guests are Saying
We visited Vietnam for 14 days. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and determined to see a lot of the country. Maika Tours was a great tour company and highly recommend. We took majority of our excursions with them. Below are the list of the private tours we took: Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels, Hoi An, Hue
Simply an amazing experience! All the tour guides were very professional and provided a detailed history of all the places we visited. Booking with them was very easy and smooth. Overall, we highly recommend them due to the high quality of customer service and tour experience they provide their clients.
We want to thank Giang and Mr Sim for giving this tour of Cu Chi Tunnel, I have actually been here before on another Tour. But going with Mr Sim gave so much additional information and insight that I really enjoyed this more than when I went previously. Mr Sim is genuinely interested in the history and gave so much respect to former veterans.
Took my 90-year old father back to Vietnam for the first time since he was there in 1967. We did a half day Cu Chi private tunnels tour. Mr Hung was our guide and did a fantastic job adapting the tour for my dad. His knowledge of the tunnels was in depth. He also was entertaining as he plays the harmonica quite well. I would highly recommend this tour.
We did the private Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Full Day Tour with 8 friends. We got picked up with a nice private van and had the whole day a fun, tasty and intriguing day. Mr. Sim was great and explained a lot. The cu chi tunnels as well as the Mekong delta were great. Would certainly recommend!!
We are just on the way back from Cu Chi Tunnels to Saigon.
It is very simple to describe – go there, it‘s a must see.
Candy – our tour guide from Maika Tours knows so much, she can tell you the whole story. And she knows to avoid the big groups of tourists coming here. So follow her advice for time table and routing.
Bring proper shoes and wear clothes that survive a tunnel crawl.
I set up a private day tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, including an airport pickup, with Mr. Giang. He was great at keeping me in the loop and the price was competitive. The guide was there when I arrived at the airport and spoke great English. He gave me a brief overview of HCMC and the role that the Cu Chi Tunnels played in the war while we were driving to the tunnels, which was very helpful in providing some localized context. The tour of the tunnels was very comprehensive and informative, so I left with a much greater understanding of this area during wartime.
A friend of mine introduced me to Giang Vu. He helped me a lot and got me a private tour of Hue and I also did the Mekong vallwy, Ho Chi Min City and Cu Chi tunnels with him. It was an amazing trip and the took very good care of us and the guides were very knowledgeable.
I did so many fun things. Went around Hue on a bike, went on a motorickshaw in the Mekong Delta, drank snake wine, held a python, held a bees nest, listened to traditional music and ate some traditional food!
Amazing experience, reliable people and I would recommend them anytime!!
