Itinerary
Visit Local Factories and Farms

Welcome to Phu Quoc Island! Our team will be waiting with name signs, big smiles, and a Maika Tour t-shirt at your port to take you to your cool, air-conditioned transport.
We’ll start our fun-packed day with visits to a variety of farms and factories on the island where local people produce Sim (rose myrtle fruit) wine, fish sauce, pearls, and pepper. There we will learn how these products are made. You’ll have a chance to witness the production process and taste these Phu Quoc specialities. This is a great way to approach the local lifestyle and culture.

Explore Ham Ninh Fishing Village and Enjoy Lunch on Sao Beach

Next, we’ll stop by Ham Ninh fishing village, one of Phu Quoc’s oldest villages that still preserves a peaceful, slow-paced daily life. On your visit, you can see the typical fishing village image with rows of colourful wooden boats, skillfully carved by the locals, docking at the harbour. These boats are essential to their fishing activities and way of life. We’ll walk around the area to experience being a villager, living a simple life, and getting a feel for the sense of community and the friendly neighbours. From Ham Ninh beach, you can see Pirate island, Nghe islet, and Ong Hoi headland in the far distance.

*If time allows, we’ll visit Truc Lam Ho Quoc Zen Monastery which was built on the high mountain, overlooking the sea. Locals and tourists come here to offer incense on Buddist festivals and special days, or just to admire the surrounding landscape and architecture.

We’ll have a short break and enjoy a tasty seafood lunch on Sao Beach surrounded by natural scenery, crystal clear waters, and white-sand shores. You can wander along the beach, sunbathe, or merely contemplate the beauty of the sea before we continue the afternoon.

Travel Back in Time at Coconut Tree Prison (Nha Tu Cay Dua)

One of Phu Quoc’s must-visit sights is Coconut Tree Prison, a harsh place used to imprison soldiers during the war, where you can now see mannequins depicting prisoners’ lives at the time. Although this is not for the faint-hearted, it is worth visiting to learn about the island’s struggles and the effort to make Phu Quoc the beautiful place it is today.

Explore the North of Phu Quoc Island and Immerse Yourself in Nature

Located in the northern half of the island, Ganh Dau Cape remains untouched and is home to breathtaking landscapes. The forest sweeps down to the shore and stops abruptly in front of the white sandy beaches. Magnificent rocks provide an impressive contrast between the ocean and the sky. From Ganh Dau, you can see the fishermen busy with their boats on the shore, or you can even spot the borderland between Vietnam and Cambodia. Pay a visit to Nguyen Trung Truc Temple, a place to commemorate a Vietnamese hero who was a campaign leader during French colonial times.

To wrap up our day, we’ll visit Rach Vem fishing village, a unique coastal village with a floating seafood restaurant, connected to the mainland by wooden bridges. If you don’t come here to enjoy seafood, you can just relax in this quiet area and watch starfish roaming freely in the clear water.

Our tour guide and transport will return you to the port in plenty of time for your departure.
