Let’s Embark On This Adventure!
Set out for a delightful stroll through the vibrant Ho Thi Ky Flower Market(opens in a new tab), the largest in Ho Chi Minh City. While wandering through its narrow, winding streets, you will experience the bustling daily life of local traders and be captivated by the fragrant scents and brilliant array of colours. After soaking in the market’s charm, continue your adventure by exploring Saigon’s Chinatown.
Explore Cho Lon – Saigon’s Chinatown
Step into Cho Lon, a bustling Chinatown with a rich history dating back to the late 1700s. This vibrant neighbourhood was founded by the Hoa people, an ethnic Chinese community, and is home to the stunning Thien Hau Temple. Adorned with intricate carvings, Thien Hau is considered one of the most beautiful temples in the area. Next, venture to the War Remnants Museum.
Dive Deep Into Vietnam’s History
The War Remnants Museum lies in the heart of the city centre. While the exhibits can be emotionally intense, they offer a powerful and insightful look into the Vietnam War. It is a valuable stop for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of this conflict and its lasting impact.
Savour Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine
After a thought-provoking visit to the museum, recharge with a delicious Vietnamese lunch at a local eatery. Once you have fueled up on authentic flavours, it’s time to explore the Reunification Palace. This historic landmark played a pivotal role in Vietnamese history, and a visit here offers a fascinating glimpse into the past.
Admire Architectural Marvels
Next, visit the renowned Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office, where your expert guide will share the fascinating history of these iconic landmarks. You will also see the historic CIA building, famously associated with the departure of one of the last U.S. helicopters from Saigon in 1975.
Our tour will continue with a stroll through other notable Ho Chi Minh City highlights, including the Opera House, Hotel Continental, Rex Hotel, and City Hall, as well as a glimpse of the impressive Bitexco Financial Tower.
Make The Most Of Your Last Hours!
To conclude a fantastic day, we suggest visiting the Bitexco Financial Tower Sky Deck (optional – additional cost applies) for breathtaking panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. The final destination will be Ben Thanh Market(opens in a new tab), a lively spot where you can shop for local goods and sample traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
Our guide will drop you back to the airport in plenty of time for your departure. Be sure to give your wonderful guide a hug and ask for any final recommendations.
See What Our Guests are Saying
I now refer my friends, family and colleagues, as well as book all of my tours, accommodation and flights with Maika because I feel very lucky to have finally found an organisation in Asia that gives me the confidence to do so.
The tour was very well organized, and the guide spoke very good English. We got to see and experience so many things: Besides visiting a pagoda and Buddha statue, we also went on a boat ride (with a stop to enjoy a coconut drink) and visited local businesses producing rice paper, conical hats and mats. We had fresh fruit and tea for a snack and Pho soup for lunch which was delicious! We had such a good day and would highly recommend this tour!
We went on this tour, two families of four, with children aged 9-12 years old. We were really happy with it and highly recommend. Lin was our guide and she was fantastic, would really do a trip with her again. It was nice to do this privately and easy to adjust with Lin if needed. Maika helped us book the accommodation in Can Tho which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend and for sure do again.
You did a great job looking after all of our family of 7. The kids enjoyed all the tours and especially the Mekong cruise …as did we……because the kids were so happy we got to enjoy some time to ourselves too. I would recommend Maika Tours if your thinking of visiting Vietnam!
