It is very simple to describe – go there, it‘s a must see.

Itinerary
Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels
Your private, English-speaking guide will be waiting for you at your hotel. Get comfortable in your air-conditioned transport as we make our way to our first stop – the impressive labyrinth of war tunnels, also known as the Cu Chi Tunnels. Experience how Viet Cong fighters used ingenious techniques to remain safe during the war, and even opt to walk through the tunnels yourself to witness the impressive network, including the secret underground kitchen.
Visit a Rubber Tapping Facility
Prior to returning to the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City, we will make a stop at a rubber plantation to learn about the history of rubber tree cultivation in Vietnam. Your tour guide will provide insights into the local people’s daily work on the plantation, including their rubber tapping, collection, and production techniques.
Stop For a Tasty Local Lunch
Following the rubber plantation stop, we will head back to the city centre for a tasty Vietnamese Set Menu at a local restaurant.
Learn about the Vietnam War
After lunch, visit the thought-provoking War Remnants Museum. This will be an intense and emotionally hard-hitting stop given the graphic content of the museum. But it will also be an immensely powerful experience for anybody wishing to learn more about different perspectives surrounding the Vietnam War.
Appreciate Remarkable Architecture
To admire renowned examples of modern Vietnamese architecture, embark on a guided walking tour. The first stop is the Reunification Palace. Many visitors remember it as the backdrop for countless television broadcasts during the Vietnam War. Even today, it serves as a headquarters for some top-secret activity.
Our next stop will be the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office, both right across the street. Your guide will explain all the history behind these two incredible buildings and show you the historic CIA building where one of the last U.S Helicopters flew out of Saigon in 1975. Next, visit more HCMC highlights including the Opera House, Hotel Continental, Rex Hotel and City Hall as well as viewing the mighty Bitexco Financial Tower.
Make the Most of Your Final Stop
After a full day of exploration, it’s time to visit the iconic Ben Thanh Market, one of Ho Chi Minh City’s oldest and most famous markets. This lively marketplace is the perfect spot to immerse yourself in the local culture, try authentic Vietnamese street food, and shop for unique treasures to take home.
At the end of the tour, we will get you safely back to your hotel in the comfort of our private vehicle. Don’t forget to give a hug to your lovely guide and ask for future trip recommendations from our local expert!
See What Our Guests are Saying
I did a half day tour to the cu chi tunnels with Nam. He was an amazing tour guide that gave me a lot of context the other tour guides didn’t and made sure that I got to see some places normally not covered by larger groups. He was excellent and really enjoyed the tour!
Our family or two adults and three kids enjoyed our terrific guide named “Tan” for both our one day tours out of HCMC
Tan was a wealth of information and had a great sense of humour. He took the time to drop us to the airport when we needed to catch a plane after our tour. The company was easy to communicate with to book the tour and were on time etc. I highly recommend this company and especially our guide Tan, thanks for making our visit to Vietnam wonderful
Took my 90-year old father back to Vietnam for the first time since he was there in 1967. We did a half day Cu Chi private tunnels tour. Mr Hung was our guide and did a fantastic job adapting the tour for my dad. His knowledge of the tunnels was in depth. He also was entertaining as he plays the harmonica quite well. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour was very well organized, and the guide spoke very good English. We got to see and experience so many things: Besides visiting a pagoda and Buddha statue, we also went on a boat ride (with a stop to enjoy a coconut drink) and visited local businesses producing rice paper, conical hats and mats. We had fresh fruit and tea for a snack and Pho soup for lunch which was delicious! We had such a good day and would highly recommend this tour!
We went on this tour, two families of four, with children aged 9-12 years old. We were really happy with it and highly recommend. Lin was our guide and she was fantastic, would really do a trip with her again. It was nice to do this privately and easy to adjust with Lin if needed. Maika helped us book the accommodation in Can Tho which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend and for sure do again.
Such a great experience; learning all about the history and climbing through the tunnels. The guide was so wonderful, he answered all of our questions in such detail and made sure we had a good time.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour!! The guide was amazing, fun and full of knowledge about the tunnels and the history of Vietnam! He also went out of his way to make sure we got back to our hotel and dropped some of us off at places we wanted to go next. 110% recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the history and wanting to learn more
You did a great job looking after all of our family of 7. The kids enjoyed all the tours and especially the Mekong cruise …as did we……because the kids were so happy we got to enjoy some time to ourselves too. I would recommend Maika Tours if your thinking of visiting Vietnam!
