We want to thank Giang and Mr Sim for giving this tour of Cu Chi Tunnel, I have actually been here before on another Tour. But going with Mr Sim gave so much additional information and insight that I really enjoyed this more than when I went previously. Mr Sim is genuinely interested in the history and gave so much respect to former veterans.

Itinerary
Let’s Go!
We will pick you up at your accommodation then set off through the hustle and bustle of HCMC’s extraordinary streets. Your tour begins as soon as you’re aboard your private transport, our knowledgeable guide will give you some information on Vietnam’s political history, in preparation for the tunnels.
The Tunnels
Upon arriving at Ben Dinh Tunnels, we’ll go through the subway and enter into the old base of the Viet Cong. You will be surrounded by thick forest, shaded by beautiful trees and bamboo. Your tour guide will show you around the location while explaining all about the magnificent, clever tunnels. Prepare to be amazed by the cunning traps and the sheer resourcefulness of the Viet Cong. From camouflaged entrances into the tunnels and bamboo booby traps amongst the forest to the intricate ventilation system, you’ll see it all!
Experience The Tunnels For Yourself!
Now, it’s your turn to experience them up close! Embrace this amazing experience of dipping underground and exploring the tunnels. The Viet Cong were particularly small and slim so the tunnels were originally so they could just fit in. Nowadays, for educational purposes, the tunnels have been widened slightly. Prepare for a snug adventure as you move through them.
To end our Cu Chi tunnel experience, you’ll get to learn about the amazing hidden kitchens that were inside the tunnels and even try out some typical Viet Cong food. As we move through the unique location you’ll also get the chance to shoot some guns, such as bazookas, AK47’s etc. This comes at an additional cost.
Visit A Rubber Tapping Facility
Prior to returning to the busy streets of Saigon, we will make a stop at a rubber plantation to learn about the history of rubber tree cultivation in Vietnam. Your tour guide will provide insights into the local people’s daily work on the plantation, including their rubber tapping, collection, and production techniques.
Back To The City
After what promises to be an unforgettable and memorable morning, we will begin our journey back to Ho Chi Minh City. Our team will drop you off at your accommodation or War Remnants Museum, upon your request. Before the farewell to your guide, please make sure you get good recommendations from him/her for more ideas on where to explore in the city.

We did the private Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Full Day Tour with 8 friends. We got picked up with a nice private van and had the whole day a fun, tasty and intriguing day. Mr. Sim was great and explained a lot. The cu chi tunnels as well as the Mekong delta were great. Would certainly recommend!!
I did a half day tour to the cu chi tunnels with Nam. He was an amazing tour guide that gave me a lot of context the other tour guides didn’t and made sure that I got to see some places normally not covered by larger groups. He was excellent and really enjoyed the tour!
A friend of mine introduced me to Giang Vu. He helped me a lot and got me a private tour of Hue and I also did the Mekong vallwy, Ho Chi Min City and Cu Chi tunnels with him. It was an amazing trip and the took very good care of us and the guides were very knowledgeable.
I did so many fun things. Went around Hue on a bike, went on a motorickshaw in the Mekong Delta, drank snake wine, held a python, held a bees nest, listened to traditional music and ate some traditional food!
Amazing experience, reliable people and I would recommend them anytime!!
I set up a private day tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, including an airport pickup, with Mr. Giang. He was great at keeping me in the loop and the price was competitive. The guide was there when I arrived at the airport and spoke great English. He gave me a brief overview of HCMC and the role that the Cu Chi Tunnels played in the war while we were driving to the tunnels, which was very helpful in providing some localized context. The tour of the tunnels was very comprehensive and informative, so I left with a much greater understanding of this area during wartime. We then went to the War Remnants Museum and he let me walk through it on my own, then asked if I had any questions once I was finished. The driver was excellent in tough HCMC traffic and I felt great with the team that Mr. Giang provided.
We visited Vietnam for 14 days. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and determined to see a lot of the country. Maika Tours was a great tour company and highly recommend. We took majority of our excursions with them. Below are the list of the private tours we took: Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels, Hoi An, Hue
Simply an amazing experience! All the tour guides were very professional and provided a detailed history of all the places we visited. Booking with them was very easy and smooth. Overall, we highly recommend them due to the high quality of customer service and tour experience they provide their clients.
I can attest that not all tour company’s in Vietnam are like this as in Mui Ne we decided to book another agency, and it was simply a bad experience as what they said they would provide was not the reality.
Also note, English is not as frequently spoken in Vietnam (as compared to other asian countries), so the fact that we were able to communicate well with them was highly appreciated.
We are just on the way back from Cu Chi Tunnels to Saigon.
It is very simple to describe – go there, it‘s a must see.
Candy – our tour guide from Maika Tours knows so much, she can tell you the whole story. And she knows to avoid the big groups of tourists coming here. So follow her advice for time table and routing.
Bring proper shoes and wear clothes that survive a tunnel crawl.
