Great tour that starts with a tour of a huge flower market (you wonder who is going to buy all the flowers). Luckily, the “animal market” with its pets crammed into small cages consisted of just a few shops next to each other. An absolute highlight was the one-hour bike ride that takes you past various other markets (there is a separate market for everything) to Chinatown. There you can see a beautiful temple. After lunch in a local restaurant, we visited the former presidential palace and then in the city center we visited the cathedral, the post office, the opera house (all from the French colonial era) and the building from which the last US helicopters took off during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hung, our fabulous guide, provided us with tons of information garnished with personal experiences. We always felt safe with our driver.
